Why join Derby MTB Club?

  • The club will hold coaching clinics and camps for riders of all ability to help them improve their skills, and make riding even more fun. Never stop learning.

  • The club is affiliated with AusCycling. Joining the club requires you to be an AusCycling member. This ensures you are protected by insurance in the unlikely event that something goes wrong. 

  • Not a rider? We still need your support. Clubs like ours rely on the support of our valued members and volunteers. In return, you will make new friends, and learn new skills such as marshalling, course marking, timing and much much more. Plus, it will be fun. We promise.

Understanding Membership

Like most clubs, Derby MTB Club is affiliated with AusCycling, the governing body for cycling in Australia. This means we are bound by the rules and policies of AusCycling, and as a result, joining the Derby MTB Club requires you to be a member of AusCycling. When you join AusCycling, you have the option to select your club, and that’s where you get to pick our awesome club. AusCycling membership has a cost, as does club membership. You pay for both through AusCycling, who then forward us the club portion of the fee. The Derby MTB Club membership fee is between $20-$40. The AusCycling membership fee and benefits vary depending on the membership category chosen and age. All AusCycling memberships give you some level of insurance cover. You also have the option of one annual payment, or 12 monthly instalments.

Which AusCycling membership is right for me?

  • Use the Club Add On option to add Derby MTB Club as your primary club. Maximum cost is $40.

  • AusCycling allows you to be a member of more than one club. We encourage everyone to continue to support their existing club as all clubs rely on their members support. However, please consider supporting Derby MTB Club by adding it as your second club. Select the Club Add On option to add Derby MTB Club as your secondary club. Maximum cost is $40.

I am an AusCycling member

  • Select the Race Off Road option to race in BMX Racing, BMX Freestyle, Cyclocross (CX), Gravel and Mountain Bike (MTB) events. This includes Third Party Public Liability and Basic Personal Accident Insurance, or

    Select the Race All Discipline option to race in the above, plus Road and Track events. This includes Third Party Public Liability and Basic Personal Accident Insurance

  • Select the Lifestyle option to participate in the Clubs social rides or other participation only events. This includes Third Party Public Liability and Basic Personal Accident Insurance, or

    Select the Lifestyle Basic option. This includes only Third Party Public Liability insurance.

  • We get it. Not everyone is a rider. Or maybe you're just out of action for a while. But you still want to show your support to the Club.

    Select the free Non-Riding option. You just pay our club fee. You also get insurance cover when volunteering or acting in an official capacity for the Club in a non-riding role at any event.
